Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph

2011 Alumnae Memorial Mass

About 20 alumnae of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, plus Ursuline Sisters who are alumnae, came to the Mount for the Alumnae Memorial Mass on Nov. 5. The Mass offers a chance to remember all those former students and teachers who died since the 2010 Memorial Mass. Carolyn Sue Cecil, Mount Saint Joseph Alumnae Association president, read 39 names in remembrance during the Mass. Click here to view the memorial names from Nov. 6, 2010 - Nov. 5, 2011.

Monsignor Bernard Powers celebrated the Mass, and told the congregation that one of Jesus’ greatest lessons was to remember. “God led a people out of slavery and said, ‘remember and give thanks,’” Monsignor Powers said during his homily. “This Mass allows us to take events of the past and make them present.”

Here are some photos from the day.
