Maple Leaf Award Winners

     Audrey Pierce Durbin C‘39/A’41 and Marguerite Powers Thomas A’46 were named winners of the 2007 Maple Leaf Awards at the alumnae reunion.
      Audrey, a resident of Radcliffe, taught in the Fort Knox educational system for 27 years and earned many awards for her teaching ability. She is very active in her church, St. Brigid Church of Vine Grove. She also volunteers with the Red Cross and is a member of a Girls Sorority that helps wayward girls. She is an Ursuline Associate and attends many events at the Mount.
      Marguerite is a resident of an Assisted Living Facility at Bridgeway Pointe in Cincinnati. She had to overcome the hurdle of serious injuries suffered after a fall from her roof in 2000. She was named “Good Egg of the Year” by Catholic Digest magazine in 2005 for doing good works for others, including helping other residents at Bridgeway, preparing the altar for Mass, and leading a weekly rosary prayer. She has two grown children.
      The Maple Leaf award is given to alumnae who personify the values of their Mount Saint Joseph education in contributions to their local faith and civic communities and/or Mount Saint Joseph.
