Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph are teachers, principals, musicians, artists, health care professionals, spiritual directors, social workers, administrators, pastoral associates, retreat directors, advocates for the poor and the migrant, torture abolitioners, and religious education professionals.

Each sister ministers in a uniquely Ursuline way, following Saint Angela Merici's directive to "adapt to needs of changing times." Sisters take part in family ministry and have "religious presence" in many counties in Kentucky. There are several sisters who engage in ministry at Mount Saint Joseph. Areas at Mount Saint Joseph where the sisters currently work are leadership, mission advancement, business & finance, vocations, and archives. The sisters work in the Ursuline Community as community coordinators, treasurer, liturgist, sacristan, hospitality & switchboard, and transportation. Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph are actively ministering in seven states and in Chile, South America.

Louisiana ministry

Sisters who are retired and no longer engage in active ministry carry out the important ministry of prayer, interceding for the needs of the church and of the world.
The Ursulines of Mount Saint Joseph sponsor two corporate ministries: Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center on the Motherhouse campus, and Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky.
